Alongside Ambassador Roles and Responsibilities

Alongside Network imagines a new pediatric care system where mental health supports are integrated into the medical and recovery experience for families who have a child who has experienced a serious illness or injury.

Alongside Ambassadors are caregivers/parents who have a child who has experienced a life-threatening illness or injury and who have completed one of our wellbeing groups.

This diverse group represents a broad spectrum of expertise and lived experience. Some have professional experience that overlaps with Alongside’s work, while some have a clear vantage point on enhancing families’ medical system experience.

Alongside Ambassadors presence and input is invaluable and will shape the experience of both providers and caregivers.

Ambassadors are:

  • Committed and passionate about Alongside Network’s mission, goals and values.

  • Committed to helping build and influence the organization's network.

  • Committed to improving the path forward for families that come behind them.

Role Description:

Term=1 year  (eligibility for second term)

Alongside Ambassadors commit to attend monthly one-hour meetings to connect with other Ambassadors and Alongside staff and leadership. In addition, they will consider their engagement in other additional requests such as:

  • Participation and partnership in presentations

  • Participation and partnership in fundraising activities

  • Participation and partnership in focus groups and brainstorming sessions

Although we hope everyone can attend each month, we also know this is not always possible. Ambassadors are expected to get caught up and stay abreast of information discussed during a meeting absence.
